OAM 11g integration with OBIEE 10g for Single Sign-On

I have already done a detailed write up on Oracle Access Manager 10g integration with OBIEE 10g for Single Sign-On here.
I have read another post here that has detailed description about Oracle Access Manager 11g integration with OBIEE 10g.  That was pretty good!!

In fact I could not notice much difference with the integration steps with OAM 10g and OAM 11g.

  1. Hi Mahendra,

We have OAM 11g being setup, and couldn't locate the certification matrix & implementation guide for integrating with Siebel8.0.0.x as yet. Would you be able to help with

    i) whether OAM 11g is supported for Siebel 8.0.0x to integrate with?
ii) If yes, are there specific steps for integrating Siebel with OAM 11g?

    Thanks!

    Chandra

  2. Hello Chandra,

OAM 11g is certified with 10g WebGates through which you can integrate Siebel 8.x. All you need to confirm is whether Siebel 8.x is certified with OAM 10g.

    Hope this helps.

    -Mahendra.

  3. Nice post. Thanks for telling everyone that there is not much difference with the integration steps with both the suite. I will also check out the other posts too to understand the whole process of integration that you have explained in detail.

  5. Hi Sandeep,

The high level steps for OAM 11g and OBIEE 11g integration is given in this post http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/2011/12/05/integrate-obiee-11g-with-oam-11g-for-single-sign-on-in-13-steps/.

By the way, are you upgrading OAM from 10g to 11g also? I don't think you will have too many differences when you migrate from windows to unix if you keep the system hostname same, but have to reinstall the softwares :)

Please let me know in case of any issues.

    -Mahendra.

  7. Hi Mahendra,

We are working on integrating glassfish with Webgate 10g. Could you help us know how this can be achieved?

  9. OBIEE , OES , OID integration.I created a dashboard/analysis on obiee analytics. I assigned it some permissions such as read access to particular role. I have configured LDAP based security configuration. Now i want to store the permissions in the connected OID. Currently it stores the permissions/ access control list in .atr file in some hex data format.
I want to configure OES for setting permissions for my dashboard / analysis which will ultimately store the permissions data into OID. Is it possible.
For that i want to configure permissions access through OES which will ultimately store the access information into OID.
There is also a tool known as OBI Catalog manager through which we can configure the permissions/ access control list for our dashborad/analysis, but the problem is it stores these access data in .atr file. I want to store these access data into my OID.

Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect.

  10. Amit,

You need to come up with a solution to translate the permissinos/access control list from .atr file to OID. I don't know the specifics of .atr files, so I cannot provide inputs on this. However at OID you could design the permissions as just groups (static /dynamic) and then create OID provider in OES weblogic console so that OID groups/users are visible in OES. Then create policies in OES using OID groups.

    Hope this helps.
